Prerequisite: one semester biology, chemistry, or permission of instructor
Functions of the human body; interrelationships of the organ systems as humans respond and adapt to their environment. LEC/REC

405 Cell & Membrane Physiology (4) (Sp)
Prerequisites: BIO201 and BIO205 or BCH403
Contemporary issues of cell structure and function and experimental methods used in modern cell biology research. Lectures concern basic principles and show how these principles are derived from research through a review of original journal articles. LEC/REC

412 Applied Physiology (2) (Sp)
Prerequisite: PGY300 or PGY451 or PGY452 or permission of instructor
Physiological responses of the body to the internal stresses caused by disease. LEC

427 Neurophysiology (4) (Sp)
Prerequisite: PGY451-452 or permission of instructor
Basic principles known to govern the function of the nervous system in humans. LEC

451 Human Physiology I (3) (F)
Prerequisites: upper-division health science enrollment; one year college math, chemistry, physics, and biology
First semester of a two-semester lecture course in human body functions. LEC

452 Human Physiology II (3) (Sp)
Prerequisites: upper-division health-science enrollment; one year college math, chemistry, physics, and biology
Second semester of a two-semester lecture course in human body functions. LEC

498 Neurophysiology Laboratory (4) (F)
Prerequisite: permission of instructor
Functional organization and operation of the mammalian nervous system. LAB

490 Physiology Research (1-8) (F; Sp; Su)
Prerequisites: upper-division major
Students participate in original investigative work that includes both laboratory and literature searching. LAB

499 Independent Study (1-8) (F; Sp; Su)
Prerequisite: permission of instructor
